SIP A TASTY DRINK AT MEXIMODO IN NEW JERSEY, HOME TO THE WORLD’S LARGEST COLLECTION OF TEQUILA

Metuchen is one of my favorite small towns in New Jersey. Only a short distance from where I live, it’s packed with everything I’d want for a day on the town. It has unique architecture, history, nature trails, great shopping, and a phenomenal dining scene that’s only getting better. One of the best things the town did recently was develop a major pedestrian plaza in what was formerly a parking and office area, filling it with small businesses and restaurants. And at the end of 2023, the crown jewel of the area opened – Meximodo Cocina Mexicano & Tequila Bar, the best new cantina in New Jersey. Celebrating modern Mexican food and drink, it features a massive array of imported tequila and claims to be the record-holder for the largest collection of tequila in the world. It certainly shows off in the variety – this place will give you more opportunities to experience the tastes south of the border than anywhere else around.

A modern, lively Mexican restaurant that takes authentic Mexican ingredients and combines them with modern fine dining techniques, it’s no surprise it’s packed most nights.

The centerpiece of the place is the massive bar – stocked with more bottles of tequila than you thought possible. Its claim to fame is the world’s largest tequila collection.

But this isn’t a bar first and a restaurant second – just as much care is put into the authentic eats, starting with the appetizers.

From there, get a taco plate! Three to a set and held in an authentic corn shell, they’re a filling plate. But there are also heftier entrees like chicken mole on the menu.
