I decided to let the Only In Your State AI-Travel Planning Dashboard do the work and plan a weekend getaway to Atlantic City. Let's take a look at what it came up with.
I've visited New Jersey throughout my life, but have never been to Atlantic City. With its location on the Jersey shore, a boardwalk, an amusement park, and several casinos, it seems like a fun place to spend a summer weekend with friends. I decided to let the Only In Your State AI-Travel Planning Dashboard do the work and plan a weekend getaway. Let's take a look at what it came up with.
How to Use the AI Travel Planning Dashboard
AI can be a little intimidating when you first use it. However, this AI-Travel Planner takes out the intimidation by asking a series of simple questions like where you're traveling, the length and month of your trip, who you're traveling with, and your interests. Then, it pulls information from Only In Your State's content library to create a personalized itinerary. It's super easy, and I've had a lot of fun playing around with it! Here are the results for a "Weekend Getaway in Atlantic City: Beaches, Bites, and Bright Lights."
What to Do
When I travel, I typically plan to visit a mix of natural and tourist attractions. The AI trip-planning tool certainly hit the mark with its two picks. Just north of Atlantic City in Brigantine, NJ, North Brigantine Natural Area was the first selection. Hiking through this hidden gem wildlife refuge and its unspoiled beach while watching birds and searching for wildlife will be the perfect way to start the day.
Afterwards, my friends and I would head to the second suggestion, the Showboat Resort, for the water park. I happen to love hotel water parks, and this one seems incredibly fun. There's also a lazy river, and its Bliss Pool has the only swim-up bar in Atlantic City. Of course, we could always spend the night at Showboat Resort and enjoy other amenities like the spa, beach, restaurants, and casino bars.
Where to Eat
There are so many options for where to eat, and the Trip Planner chose four. About 20 minutes away in Leeds Point, the Oyster Creek Restaurant and Boat Bar offers seafood dishes with a marsh view. Open for lunch and dinner, it's a great lunch option with casual fare like crab cakes, chowder, burgers, and sushi. Another super casual spot is located inside the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. White House Sub Shop is a counter-service sandwich shop that seems convenient for grabbing a few subs to take down to the beach.
For a dinner option, Chef Vola’s is a century-old restaurant inside a home. It serves family-style Italian dishes, is BYOB, and requires a reservation. Then there's the historic Knife & Fork Inn, which offers a more elevated dining experience. Starting as a supper club for men in 1912, it has evolved into an upscale steak and seafood restaurant with impeccable service and exquisite dishes. I know my friends and I would love to dine here.
Where to Stay
The AI tool only gave the option of staying at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City Hotel & Casino. With a massive 175,000-square-foot casino, 11 restaurants, including the Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse, an adults-only pool with cabanas, and a spa, this is an option we would consider.
The Verdict
In my opinion, the AI Travel Planner did a great job creating an itinerary for a weekend getaway to Atlantic City with friends. It provided a variety of things to do and places to dine. The next time I plan a trip somewhere around the U.S., I will certainly use it again to see what it comes up with. Have you tried it yet?
