Morristown, New Jersey, is a wonderful place to explore the next time you have a free day with no plans. With a population of 20,000 people, we consider Morristown to be a small New Jersey town. However, despite its size, there is so much to do in the area – downtown or otherwise. You could seemingly spend forever exploring this incredible small town in our state, and we’re here to convince you why you should visit and discover some of the amazing things to do in Morristown, New Jersey.

Morristown, New Jersey, the county seat of Morris County, holds an important place within the history of this country. For starters, it’s been dubbed the military capital of the American Revolution, with tons of historic sites throughout.

However, there is so much more to Morristown than what initially meets the eye. Sure, for a small town, having miniature skyscrapers is somewhat unique, but it really adds to the ambiance of the downtown area.

Explore places throughout town like the Morristown National Historic Park, the Ford Mansion and Museum, the Speedwell Dam, and so much more.

It isn’t just buildings, restaurants, and shops here either. There are quite a few pockets of nature that will take you out of downtown and into the woods.

But, it is fun to spend a few hours wandering through Downtown Morristown NJ. You’ll find a ton of mom-and-pop shops, bars, restaurants, and so much more. Take note of the historic architecture as you explore.

Visit Rod’s Steak & Seafood Grille, a fine-dining landmark that specializes in steaks and seafood in a Victorian setting. Make sure to check out the resorted Pullman cars while you’re there.
