Surrounded by scenic views and outdoor adventure, this campground near the Atlantic City Boardwalk makes the perfect weekend retreat in New Jersey.
New Jersey has so many outstanding outdoor vacation destinations that it can be difficult to decide what type of trip to take. Perhaps a relaxing family getaway to the shore? Or maybe a week of camping in scenic surroundings? Both are great options, but if you simply can’t decide, you are in luck, because I have solved this dilemma for you. That’s right, you can have the best of both worlds when you spend your vacation at the Pomona RV Park & Campground, a secluded campground in New Jersey, only miles away from the Atlantic City boardwalk.
Where This Campground Is and How Close It Is to the Atlantic City Boardwalk
You can find the Pomona RV Park & Campground right in the community of Pomona, New Jersey. It is the closest campground to Atlantic City — just ten minutes away. The family-owned business has become a popular destination for many reasons. Besides being so close to the iconic Atlantic City boardwalk, guests return year after year because the campground is so clean and welcoming.
What to Expect When You Camp Here
The Pomona RV Park & Campground features a variety of accommodations to suit all types of camping lifestyles. Many guests bring their own RVs (including big rigs) and hook up at the full-service sites. However, the campground also offers several options for those who don't own a camper. You can rent an RV right from the campsite or opt to pitch a tent. But there are glamping options as well. This hidden gem of a spot features two-bedroom cottages (complete with televisions, air conditioning, heat, and a grill), as well as deluxe cabins with full bathrooms, porches, and kitchens. However, the type of stay I find most interesting is the property’s yurt rentals, which sleep up to five guests and include comfortable amenities such as air conditioning, televisions, and refrigerators.
A stay at Pomona RV Park & Campground also includes use of some fabulous amenities. There is a 50-foot swimming pool, a community fire ring, a playground, and a well-stocked camp store where you can purchase all of your camping needs. There are also several activities to enjoy during your visit. Along with campfires, crafts, and hayrides, the campground hosts special themed dinners, a chili cook-off, and their very own beer and wine festival.
Tips for Visiting
Perhaps the best feature about this peaceful retreat is its proximity to so many popular New Jersey landmarks and attractions. You could easily spend a week just enjoying the beaches, casinos, and amusements in Atlantic City. But the campground is also within driving distance of a championship public golf course, the scenic Pine Barrens Byway, and Storybook Land. For some unique shopping, I also suggest checking out the specialty stores at nearby Historic Smithville.
The peak season at the Pomona RV Park & Campground runs from mid-April through the end of October, but the campground also has some limited winter camping in its self-contained units from November through mid-April. Reservations for all accommodations can be booked through the Pomona RV Park & Campground website, and you can find out even more information on the Pomona RV Park & Campground Facebook page.
